"Instatus" creates a private intimate space for the couple, which can make communication between the couple individually during their work, study and other social activities.

Iused different techniques, such as focus groups, usability tests and surveys. Field studies got me immersed into the environment of the users and allowed me to observe critical details as much as possible.

My 4 core findings from fieldwork and workshops:

People like to use free software for daily communication
Emoticons can arrange and come up with different new interpretations
Personal privacy plays importanter role
Sense of presence increase emotional closeness

I consider to adopt popular flat design integrated into my interface and want the whole App to be simple in the appearance. According to the usability test, I renew my design in some unintelligible places and make it moreusers friendly competency.

Headphone jack plug play as the attraction accessories to win female users’ attention and last long-term usage by updating abundant outfit. Headphone plug are to be used the same module as main principles or basic foundations that offer the opportunity of mass production.

"Instatus" provides customized products. Users can communicate with the designers to put their personal unique into headphone jack plug.

“Instatus” stands for Instant Status. The first 2 letters of "Instatus" has been used as the logo. “In” is not only implied that "Instatus" will get along with the trends, but it also symbolizes the couple hand-in-hand by using "Instatus".

Based on the product goals and insights from related work analysis and adjustment, I draw up the main assignment goal and flow chat.

“Instatus” is a trans media product, which includes headphone jack plug as well as App based on iOs 7 system. User could decide the meaning of each color freely through "Instatus" App, and RGB Led inside partner’s headphone jack plug could be triggered correspondently according to the color protocol. Without swipe above the phone screen, user could directly know secret message from the blinking light.

The agreement of protocol about the color meaning could reduce the risks of misunderstanding. It works like this that both sides accept the protocol about the color meaning. When one side wants to change the color meaning, a request will be sent to the other part. The new protocol could only be implemented after the confirmation from both sides.

“Instatus” App offers function of sharing photo. To keep the personal privacy of user, pictures will be self-destructed after setting and eliminated after an expire records. That prevents peeping happened from other people.

In the top bar of "Instatus" App, partner’s local time, current place and weather could be read directly.
